DWYPD leads the fifth edition of the Women Lead Forum in collaboration with the Southern African Embrace Foundation
Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, will address the Women Lead Forum (WLF) in Johannesburg on Thursday, 26 October 2023. The WLF is an ideal platform for the government to engage stakeholders on the implementation of the National Strategic Plan on GBVF resolutions that calls for among others, economic empowerment of women to achieve gender equality in South Africa.
The 2023 Women Lead Forum (WLF) comes after the census report which indicates that more than half (51.5%) of the South African population are female. Building on government strategic outcomes that aim to facilitate investment, trade promotion, economic growth and job creation through effective leadership.
Gender-based violence remains one of the biggest challenges and obstacles to development in South Africa. Minister Dlamini Zuma will engage with the represented forums of gender equality, entrepreneurs, youth groups, academia, NGOs, Media, and inter-governmental stakeholders on the importance of socio-economic empowerment of women, youth and persons with disabilities in order to achieve gender equality in South Africa.
Women Lead Forum will further strengthen South Africa and the region to have a strong network on supporting government calls for women and youth towards socio-economic empowerment, through the support of economic integration and the development of trade investment in the African Continent.
