Minister Ndebele undertakes visit to China

Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele will undertake an official visit to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) from 3 to 10 March 2010.

The main purpose of the visit is to meet with stakeholders from the rail sector in China, as South Africa is currently spending billions of rands in improving its public transport infrastructure, with an emphasis on rail infrastructure. China has managed to improve and modernise its high speed train system and has become one of the leading countries globally in terms of high speed train development and infrastructure.

While in China, Minister Ndebele is expected to meet with senior officials from their Ministry of Transport as well as representatives from several companies involved in high speed train projects.
