Transport Minister, honourable Sibusiso Ndebele will hold a high-level meeting with the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) regarding taxi financing.
Joining the Minister for the meeting will be SANTACO President, Mr AJ Mthembu, SANTACO Secretary-General Mr Taaibosch and the executive leadership of the Council. The meeting will also be attended by senior government officials and banking and financial institutions in both the public and private sector.
The objective for the meeting is for the Minister to engage with SANTACO and key banking and financial institutions in order to unpack taxi industry owned initiatives of participating in enterprise development. This is aimed at getting the taxi industry to play a proactive role in the financing process of taxis while adding value to industry partners by way of reducing risk exposure.
