Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele will deliver the keynote address at the City of Johannesburg's Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system first anniversary of operations on Monday, 30 August 2010.

The City of Johannesburg has arranged various activities to celebrate the first anniversary of Rea Vaya. These include a picnic for Rea Vaya bus drivers, the staff who are employed at the stations and the staff who are part of the Transport Department.
The city will also give regular Rea Vaya passengers a surprise birthday gift on Monday. Minister Ndebele will deliver his address during a gala dinner for Rea Vaya stakeholders on Monday night.
Rea Vaya is the City of Johannesburg's response to the Department of Transport's vision for Integrated Rapid Public Transport Networks (IRPTNs), where different modes are integrated in the interest of the commuters.
