Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele will address the Commission for Global Road Safety in New York on 1 and 2 May 2012.
Road safety activists from around the world, including representatives from various governments, the United Nations (UN) and the World Bank, will attend the event.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), during the course of the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety (2011 to 2020), as many as five million lives could be saved and 50 million serious injuries prevented if road safety programmes are implemented worldwide.
