Minister Mthethwa to launch clean towns campaign in Flagstaff tomorrow

Acting Minister for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Nathi Mthethwa will be at the Flagstaff Sport Grounds tomorrow to deliver the keynote address at the launch of the clean cities and towns campaign.

The Minister has been invited to grace this event by the MEC for CoGTA in the Eastern Cape, Mlibo Qoboshiyane. The clean cities and towns campaign is driven through collaboration between the national CoGTA, the provincial department and non-governmental organisations that work in the environmental sector.

"The campaign is an extension of our drive to instil the principles of clean governance in our municipalities in line with the objectives of Outcome 9 in terms of achieving a local governance system that is accountable, responsive, effective and efficient. We are excited by the collaboration behind this launch as it brings together both the elected representatives and traditional leadership in the area driving the same agenda," Minister Mthethwa said.
