This serves to inform and invited you to join and cover a special breakfast meeting of the Minister of Correctional Services, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, scheduled for tomorrow morning at Protea Hotel in Midrand.
Minister Mapisa-Nqakula will be accompanied by the National Commissioner of Correctional Services Mr Tom Moyane and the Executive Management of the department.
The meeting is aimed at deepening working relations between the department and stakeholders that are critical in efforts to meet the department’s targets for the fourth term of government.
The meeting is the first meeting with stakeholders since the minister signed her delivery agreement with the president committing to significantly improve delivery of correctional services during her term.
Among key players expected at the meeting are:
- Correctional Services partners in the Criminal Justice Cluster like Justice, Police and Home Affairs.
- Business sector represented by Business Unity South Africa and Business Against Crime.
- Labour organisations like Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) and Public Services Association (PSA).
- Long standing partners on the NGO sector like NICRO, Khulisa and Phaphama.
- Other partners like religious organisations and academic institutions.
