Last week we announced the Launching of National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS) for Tuesday, 7 December. Today, unfortunately, we announce postponement/cancellation of the event, due to unforeseen circumstances. The event is postponed until further notice. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

However, on the same date, SETA FORUM continues at 11am at the same venue; Manhattan Hotel, Pretoria. SETA FORUM is a meeting of Minister with SETA CEOs, and chairpersons . We invite media for the Ministerial Address to this event. Some critical announcements based on the earlier SETA Landscape changes, announcements will be made about how SETAs will operate moving forward i.e. interact with FETs.

Skills Development Strategy

The Minister will be launching the National Skills Development Strategy 3 (NSDS 3). After the launching of this historical Strategy the Minister will proceed to address Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) Forum constituted by SETA chairs, Deputy Chairs and CEOs.

In this meeting the Minister will reflect on objective analysis of where SETAs are, what key weaknesses and more critically in the light of NSDS3 how do we move forward

NSDS 3 is rooted in the overall goal of skilling labour force. Only a skilled, properly skilled force can improve productivity and meet national growth targets. It’s a strategy that mobilises different sections of society within education, economy and business to each define its role, set goals and outline implementable program with timeframes.
