The Minister for Rural Development and Land Reform Mr Gugile Nkwinti invite members of the media to the site visit of two rural development sites in the Eastern Cape, Dan Sandi Village in Kliplaat and Rietbron which will be site for Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP) implementation, on Friday, 1 April 2011.
In 2010 Minister Nkwinti as part of the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP) declared Dan Sandi Village (in Kliplaat under the Ikwezi Local Municipality) and Rietbron (which is a District Management Area under Cacadu District Municipality) as the site for the implementation of the CRDP in the province. Other CRDP Sites identified in the province are as follows:
- Engcobo Local Municipality in Chris Hani District Municipality
- Mbhashe Local Municipality in Amathole District Municipality
- Elundini Local Municipality in Joe Gqabi District Municipality
- Umzimkhulu Local Municipality in Alfred Nzo District Municipality
- Ntabankulu Local Municipality in OR Tambo District Municipality.
