Minister Grant to inspect a 'replacement school' building site

Tomorrow, Minister Grant will be visiting Oaklands High School to inspect the building site of a new school building.

The current structure is fifty seven years old and is a legacy of the apartheid era. The existing prefab school is therefore being replaced with brick and mortar structure to ensure that the learners learn under a better and safer environment.

This falls under the Western Cape Education Department (WCED’s) infrastructure plan, which includes the replacement of 20 schools that were built with inappropriate materials in the next three years.
