Minister Edna Molewa convenes stakeholders workshop to discuss preparations for Climate Change Conference, COP 17

Edna Molewa, the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs will on Friday, 1 April 2011 convene a meeting of key stakeholders to provide information on the national preparations for the hosting of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties COP 17/MOP7 (Seventh Meeting of Parties).

The Minister will use the opportunity to provide stakeholders with an update and information on the national preparations for hosting of the COP 17.

South Africa will host COP 17 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal from 29 November until 9 December 2011. The engagement will provide a platform for climate change stakeholders to respond to and discuss possible initiatives to ensure stakeholder involvement in the 17th session of the Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP17).
