Minister Dlamini Zuma to lead Home Affairs officials in celebrating Mandela Day

Bulwer: Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Sunday, 18 July lead the Home Affairs Campaign to mark the 92nd birthday and celebrate Mandela Day by distributing IDs to senior citizens at the Bulwer Hall, in KwaZulu-Natal Midlands from 10h00 to 13h00. In this regard, the Independent Development Trust officials will join the Minister during the campaign.

Minister Dlamini Zuma's distribution of IDs to senior citizens in Bulwer is part of a series of events planned by the Department of Home Affairs across the country to mark Nelson Mandela Day.

These events include further distribution of IDs to elders in Mamelodi (Gauteng) Bloemfontein (Free State), Bethal (Mpumalanga), Galishiwe Day Hospital, Upington and Pampierstad (Northern Cape) as well as Thornton SOS Children’s village and George Thembalethu in the Western Cape.

In addition, Home Affairs officials will embark on birth registration and process ID applications in Galishiwe Day Hospital, Upington and Pampierstad in the Northern Cape, Thornton in the Western Cape, and Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.

The department will also embark on a refurbishment campaign of a number of Home Affairs offices in all provinces across the country consisting mainly of painting to give the offices a new “look and feel”
