Minister of Home Affairs Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Thursday 2 December launch the Free State Provincial Stakeholder Forum in Villiers, Fezile Dabi District.
Stakeholder fora have been established by the Department since January 2010 with the aim of strengthening service delivery to the people.
In this regard, the local and district stakeholder fora in the province have made progress in popularising the National Population Register (NPR) campaign in the community which aims to secure the integrity and credibility of the national population register through the registration of births of children within 30 days of delivery, the issuance of identity documents to all 16 year olds and the conclusion of processes related to the late registration of births by the end of December 2010.
The launch of the stakeholder forum will be attended by amongst others, the MEC for Social Development Sisi Ntombela, provincial MECs and mayors.
