Minister of Home Affairs Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Tuesday, 22 February 2011 host bilateral discussions with her Zimbabwean counterparts, Ministers of Home Affairs Kembo Mohadi and Theresa Makone at the Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria.The Zimbabwean Ministers will arrive in South Africa on Monday, 21 February 2011.
Discussions between the Ministers of Home Affairs from South Africa and Zimbabwe come within the context of efforts to finalise the process of documenting Zimbabwean nationals resident in South Africa.Minister Dlamini Zuma speaking to the media last week, explained the importance of the meeting in terms of the dependency South Africa has on the government of Zimbabwe to produce passports to enable the conclusion of the documentation process.
This is the third meeting between the Ministers as part of the agreement between the two governments to co-operate in the documentation of Zimbabwean nationals in South Africa.
In pursuance of this objective the Department has been co-operating with organizations representing Zimbabweans living in South Africa including representatives of the Embassy and Consulate.
It is expected that Minister Dlamini Zuma and her counterparts will discuss the way forward to ensure the process to document Zimbabwean nationals is concluded as soon as possible.
