Minister Dlamini Zuma and Premier Zweli Mkhize to hand over identity documents (IDs) and houses to distressed families in Bulwer, KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government

Bulwer: Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will, tomorrow, Friday, 18 December 2009, join the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Dr Zweli Mkhize and several MECs on an official visit to Bulwer in Midlands, KwaZulu-Natal.

The visit to Bulwer comes within the context of recent storms that devastated the area, causing serious damage to infrastructure including houses that were destroyed while a number of citizens lost their IDs.

Accordingly, the visit, which is part of the ongoing reconstruction and development programme of Bulwer, is aimed at handing over houses to ten families whose homes were destroyed, while simultaneously delivering 250 IDs to those citizens who lost their base documents during the recent storms.

The programme for the visit is as follows:

11h00: Arrival of Minister Dlamini Zuma and Premier Mkhize

11h15: Church service-Bulwer Community hall

12h30: Minister Dlamini Zuma hands over IDs

12h40: Walkabout and hand over of ten houses including other IDs

13h00: Question and answer session with the media
