The Minister will be accompanied by the Deputy Minister, Maria Ntuli, MEC for Social Development in the Eastern Cape Dr Pemmy Majodina, Chief Xhanti Sigcau and members of Mbhashe Traditional Council.

The event will be held as follows:

The visit to Mbhashe is part of “Taking Department Social Development to Communities’’ campaign and the long-standing partnership between the department and traditional leaders. This campaign seeks to complement the War on Poverty campaign and the Comprehensive Rural Development Plan, both of which aim to fast track the delivery of government and to improve the lives of the poor in rural areas.

It is for this reason that we are responding positive to His Majesty’s call to work together to better the lives of our rural communities. This is part of our government’s campaign to take government services closer to our people”, said Minister Dlamini.

As part of the visit, Minister Dlamini will visit child headed-households, Early Childhood Development Centres and community development initiatives. The Minister will also visit local households affected by disaster.
