Minister Dlamini and Deputy Minister Ntuli to visit schools for children with disabilities

As part of the department’s effort to highlight the importance of education for children with disabilities, the Minister of Social Development Ms Bathabile Dlamini will visit the Adelaide Tambo School for children with disabilities in Soweto. The School provides education to 381 physically challenged learners from Grade R to Grade 12 for day scholars and borders.

The Deputy Minister Maria Ntuli will visit Filadelfia Secondary School which caters for learners with disabilities.

During the visits the minister and deputy minister will interact with school management and learners.

“Education is a basic human right and no child, including children with disabilities should be deprived of the opportunity to exercise it. We appeal to all parents and communities to enroll children with disabilities in school as this will enable them to get the necessary skills to participate fully in our society.

As a department we are committed to work with all our social partners to ensure that children with disabilities can access, participate and succeed in education on the same basis as other children”, said Minister Dlamini.
