Minister Davies to take the dti to Masiphumele, Western Cape

Trade and Industry Minister, Dr Rob Davies will be delivering a keynote address on his programme “taking the dti to people” towards previously disadvantaged communities at the Masiphumelele Community Hall, in Masiphumelele (outside Cape Town between Fish Hoek and Simons Town area), Western Cape province, on Friday, 5 November 2010 at 09h00.

The “taking the dti to the people” campaign seeks to strengthen the department’s social impact towards previously disenfranchised communities and local businesses, to accelerate employment opportunities and economic growth towards the economic objectives of the country. It brings all the support products and services offered by the dti and its agencies to business.

These agencies include the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), National Empowerment Fund (NEF), South African Micro-Finance Apex Fund (Samaf), Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda), Companies and Intellectual Property Registration Office (CIPRO), Khula Enterprise Ltd and other incentives units within the dti.

The campaign advances national government’s commitment to working together with communities to do more, together with all spheres of government for a better life for all South Africans.
