Correctional Services Minister, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula MP, will tomorrow, 4 March 2011 lead a high level delegation of senior managers in the Department of Correctional Services, including Correctional Services National Commissioner Tom Moyane and his management team as part of ongoing relationship building initiatives with organised labour unions Police and Prison Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) and Public Services Association (PSA).
Among some of the issues that will be discussed is the ongoing implementation of the seven-day establishment work regime in the department, as well as new shift systems as part of this process.
The meeting of minds between Minister Mapisa-Nqakula, her delegation and leaders of organised labour will afford all parties the opportunity to establish close working relations to contribute to the realisation of a condusive working environment for correctional officers across South Africa.
