The Minister of Communications, General (Ret) Siphiwe Nyanda will on Thursday, 19 November 2009, address the National Broadband Policy Colloquium taking place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
The Department of Communications developed the Draft Broadband Policy of South Africa, which was gazetted on 18 September 2009 for public comment. The Broadband Policy seeks to address the provision of affordable access to broadband infrastructure to citizens, businesses and government. It also seeks to stimulate the usage of broadband services in all spheres of government.
