Tomorrow, Transport and Public Works and Health Ministers Robin Carlisle and Theuns Botha, will be conducting a site visit to Mitchell’s Plain Hospital currently under construction.
The project has been a massive undertaking by the Provincial Department of Transport and Public Works, with the contract being valued at over R500 million. The aim of the visit is to get an update on the project and to highlight the successes and challenges experienced during the construction period so far.
All media are invited and welcome to attend. Those wishing to attend are asked, for reasons pertaining to safety, to ensure that they are wearing closed shoes before being permitted to enter the construction site.

Take the N2 from Cape Town. Go past the airport (airport will be to your left). Take the R300 to Mitchell's plain. Drive along and you will see the hospital to your left. Take the 1st off ramp (Stock Road). Turn left at the intersection in to AZ Burman Drive for about 500m and you will see the flags. Turn left onto the site. Drive past the 1st gate, and park outside the 2nd gate.We will be meeting at the Sample Room on site.
