Minister for Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande, invites members of the media to a media briefing on the extra-ordinary meeting with his SADC counterparts to be held from 4-5 June at Southern Sun Hotel. The meeting is to discuss and set a policy direction for higher education in the region.
The media briefing, with all the Ministers present, will be on the second and last day of the meeting, on Tuesday, 5 June.

The meeting will explore the current trend of participation rates and provision of higher education including the role of private higher education, its potential and challenges; as well as funding of higher education and requirements for capacity building in the region. It will further examine research capacity of higher education institutions in the region as well as data collection and reporting on higher education.
