Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele will officially announce the 2009/10 festive season road traffic statistics as well as plans to intensify the Arrive Alive Road Safety campaign, ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, through the rolling traffic law enforcement plan and the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (ARRTO), in order to reduce the carnage on South Africa’s roads.

Minister Ndebele will also hand over the Torch of Peace to Minister of Basic Education, Ms Angie Motshekga, as part of the Arrive Alive and Safer Schools programmes. The minister will be joined by provincial MECs and senior government officials from the three spheres of government.
