Minister and Deputy Minister of Health to announce new approaches to service delivery

Realising that the factors that may have worked successfully in the past might not all be applicable today because of the new mandates and rapidity of change in the environment, the Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi and Deputy Minister Molefi Sefularo, will tomorrow announce new approaches to service delivery.

This is after being addressed by international experts from Senegal, Ghana, Brazil, Mexico, Netherlands and the United Kingdom on public health, at the Health Leadership Forum, organised by the Kaizer Family Foundation, held in Kloofzicht Lodge in Muldersdrift, 15 minutes from Lanseria airport and ends tomorrow, 25 January.

Members of the media are invited to a press conference where the Minister and Deputy Minister will outline the way forward after having gone through a challenging first seven months of their term of office. The Minister and Deputy Minister will address the following:
* Announce an action plan for the Department of Health
* New approaches as recommended by the National Health Council (whose members are the Minister, Deputy Minister, MECs, Heads of Department (HODs) and advisers)
* An update on the Occupational Specific Dispensation (OSD)
* Briefly on 2010 planned provincial visits to inspect the state of readiness
