The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ms Tina Joemat-Pettersson will honour more than 260 intern graduates and their mentors for their devotion and commitment during the 2009/10 internship programme.
The graduates will receive certificates as a symbol of acknowledgement, recognition and appreciation of the positive contribution they made during their stay at the department since February 2009.
The programme runs for 12 months, and it is part of government’s strategy to accelerate service delivery and reduce the unemployment rate through affording graduates with an opportunity to gain practical work experience that will enable them to become employable.
