Mineral Resources Deputy Minister, Mr Godfrey Oliphant (MP) will lead the DMR's commemoration of World AIDS Day and 16 Days of Activism

Deputy Minister for the Department of Mineral Resources, Mr Godfrey Oliphant (MP) will lead the DMR's commemoration of World AIDS Day and 16 Days of Activism for no violence against women and children to be held on 5 December 2011 in Platfontein near Kimberley in the Northern Cape.

The event comes in the wake of government's commemoration of World AIDS Day on 1 December and the 16 days of activism campaign which takes place between 25 November and 10 December annually.

The Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) is mindful of the likelihood of abuse in our country’s male dominated mining industry, and has realised the need to sensitise members of all stakeholders groups on violence against women and children.

The event will take place as follows and will unfold according to the programme listed below:

Date: 5 December 2011
Venue: XunKwesa Combined School - Platfontein, Kimberly
Time: 8h00 to 12h00
