Twenty two senior citizens who passed on when a fire broke out at Pieter Wessels old age home will be remembered in a memorial service tomorrow noon, Thursday, 5 August 2010, at Nigel Hall, Ekurhuleni.
Gauteng Health and Social Development MEC Qedani Mahlangu and Ekurhuleni Mayor, Ntombi Mekgwe will be attendance.
The survivors of this tragedy have since been moved to Zanele Mbeki Home in Dunnattor and Nigel old age home. Four of the departed will be buried this weekend.
MEC Qedani Mahlangu would like to thank community members and business people who responded swiftly and came forward with donations including food, clothes and blankets.
