Memorial and funeral arrangements of the late Mama Sisulu

The Funeral Committee for the late Mama Albertina Sisulu, led by Minister in The Presidency Collins Chabane wish to update members of the public of the following arrangements:

Official Memorial Service

The Official Memorial Service for Mama Albertina Sisulu will take place tomorrow, Thursday, 9 June 2011 at 2 pm at the Tshwane City Hall in Tshwane. The Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga will deliver a keynote address on behalf of government. The Secretary General of the African National Congress, Mr Gwede Mantashe will also pay tribute to Mama Sisulu on behalf of the ANC.

The memorial service is expected to be attended by government ministers, members of the Diplomatic Corps, senior government officials, and representatives of political parties, business leaders, religious community and members of the public.

All attendees are requested to be seated by 13h30.

The programme for the memorial service is attached.

Funeral Service

The funeral service will take place on the 11th of June 2011 at Orlando Stadium in Soweto and will be addressed by President Jacob Zuma. The proceedings will commence at 09h00.

Further details of the funeral will be communicated later.
