I would like to inform you for planning purposes the details regarding the release of the NSC results and the media events that will follow.
Order of events:
4 January 2012: 18h30
This evening, once Minister Motshekga has announced the National Results, Minister Grant will be releasing a statement on the Western Cape results. This will be at approximately 18h30 today.
5 January 2012: 08h00
The Minister will be visiting the Metro East Education District Office where he will personally reveal school results to Principals of some of our most improved schools. Principals are required to collect their school and individual results from the district office on the morning of release, therefore this is an opportune time to see the reactions of the Principals as they are made aware of their results.

5 January 2012: 10h00
Minister Grant will be holding a press conference at the Ministry in the Sanlam Building, where he will further analyse the Western Cape results. Ie. Why there were increases in certain areas etc. Please allow some time to park and come through security. Given the Minister’s time schedule, we will be unable to delay this press conference if anyone is late.

5 January 2012: 11h40
Minister Grant will be visiting two schools - top performing and most improved schools - to congratulate candidates on their results. At 12 midday, schools reveal individual candidate results. The names of these schools will be revealed early tomorrow morning, however, we can reveal that it will be in the Metro North region.
