Media invited to briefing on South Africa’s readiness to host prestigious Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference

Members of the media are invited to a briefing where the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), Hon. Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, and the Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, Hon. Morakane Mosupyoe, will provide an update on South Africa’s readiness to host the 19th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) Africa Region.

 The briefing takes place ahead of the continental conference, which will bring together Speakers, Presiding Officers, parliamentary officials and delegates from Commonwealth legislatures across Africa.

 Hosted by South Africa in Gauteng at Emperors Palace Hotels and Convention Centre, the conference will be held under the theme:

“Proactive Parliaments and Sustainable Development: An Imperative for Political Stability in Africa.”

 Members of the media will receive insight into the significance of the conference, preparations for hosting delegates, and the expected outcomes of this important parliamentary engagement.
