The Minister and Deputy Minister for Rural Development and Land Reform J Phaahla cordially invite members of the media to the launch the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP) pilot site for the Free State in Diyatalawa, next to Qwaqwa.
Comprehensive Rural Development is one of the key priorities of government, aimed at creating sustainable rural communities throughout the country. The ultimate goal of the CRDP is to see sustainable rural communities that are characterised by social cohesion. The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform has anchored the delivery of comprehensive rural development on agrarian transformation, rural development and land reform.
Comprehensive Rural Development Programme pilots have been launched in Limpopo (Muyexe), Northern Cape (Riemvasmaak) and now it's the time for the Free State. Lessons learnt from the implementation of pilots will be incorporated into a nation-wide CRDP for nation-wide implementation.
