The fight to ensure that learners of the Eastern Cape province are taught and learning in places that are fit for that, hence the Department of Education MEC, the honourable Mandla Makhuphula will today handover Gcado Senior Primary School in Binfield, Alice at 10h00 am, today 6 May 2011.
The handover of the school is part of the department’s infrastructure backlog eradication as yesterday two schools were handed over to the community of Lady Frere and Vigiesville respectively. Despite the two schools being handed over to the communities, the department is acknowledging that thus far there is a slow delivery of infrastructure as the list of deserving schools to be constructed is huge. However, the strides it has taken and progress it has made since its inception, this programme is yielding good results for the province at large. Details of the event are as follows:
