The Minister of Public Works, Honorable GL Mahlangu-Nkabinde cordially invites you to a media briefing on the outcomes of a joint MINMEC meeting to be attended by all stakeholders, including, the Deputy Minister, MECs, departmental heads and other officials.
Background:The meeting of the national Minister with the MECs from different provinces will focus, amongst others, on:
- Government’s New Growth Path and the implications of it with regards to job creation by the Departments of Public Works
- The elimination of mud schools and other inadequate government structures
- The construction and maintenance of roads, especially in light of the recent heavy rains across the country.
It is intended that the meeting will also focus on new projects from the departments. With more and more emphasis being placed on the creation of jobs, the MINMEC is expected to unpack and refine individual provincial plans in order to maximise job creation.
