You are cordially invited to the passing out parade tomorrow wherein the National Police Commissioner, Commissioner Bheki Cele, will be the functionary.
1 697 trainees successfully completed the first six months of phase one of the Basic Training Learning Programme (BTLP).
The trainees have completed the following courses, amongst others:
* Drill
* Theory and practical law
* Policing
* Physical fitness
* Firearm training
The details of the passing out parade are mentioned hereunder:
Date: Monday, 14 December 2009
Time: 09h30 for 10h00
Venue: SAPS Pretoria West Training Institution
The trainees will then proceed to various police stations as part of phase two, which is field training, in which they will be placed under supervision of field trainers who will coach and mentor them. It is at the police stations that they will be assisted to demonstrate the skills and techniques they have acquired during phase one.
