Western Cape MEC of Transport and Public Works, Robin Carlisle, to brief the media on the shutting down of the drunk driving Name and Shame Campaign by the National Department of Justice

Today, MEC of Transport and Public Works, Robin Carlisle, will be briefing the media on the shutting down of the Name and Shame campaign by the National Department of Justice.

The campaign had been run from between August 2010 and November 2012, and was a partnership between the Western Cape’s Safely Home campaign and LeadSA. Through this campaign, individuals convicted of drink driving offences in the Province were named and shamed on a regular basis in the Cape Argus newspaper.

MEC Carlisle will brief the media on the campaign and the disastrous effects that its shutting down are having on road deaths in the province. All media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for interviews and photographs.
