Parliament briefs media on recent visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo, 29 Mar

The Portfolio Committee on Defence to host a media briefing on matters related to the recent visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo

As part of oversight responsibility, the fifteen (15) member delegation of the Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans, led by the Honourable Mr Stanley M. Motimele, accompanied by various senior officials of the Department of Defence, have concluded an official visit to the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) members deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as part of the United Nation Peacekeeping Mission.

The primary aim of the official visit by the Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans was to interact with the United Nation Mission in the DRC as well to engage with SANDF members stationed in Goma. The Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans will return to South Africa on Thursday, 29 March 2018.

A media conference has been scheduled to take place at Air Force Base Waterkloof (AFB Wklf) to give feedback on the visit to the DRC to members of the media and the Public. The media briefing will commence at 14h45 for 15h00. The venue (building) is situated next to the main gate of the Base.
