Minister Zizi Kodwa briefs media on 2023 Rugby World Cup, Springboks and other developments, 8 Sept

Department of Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Honourable Zizi Kodwa invites all media to a briefing on Friday morning, 8 September 2023, 11h00. 

On Thursday, it was announced that SABC and MultiChoice had reached a deal on the  sub-licensing of broadcast rights for the 2023 Rugby World Cup. This agreement means that millions of South Africans will now be able to watch key matches, including all of the Springbok matches, in the Rugby World Cup.

Minister Kodwa will highlight the importance of this broadcast deal in giving South Africans access to sport of national interest. The Minister will also deliver a message to the Springboks ahead of their defence of the Rugby World Cup, and also give more details on the upcoming School Sport Indaba.
