Minister Thulas Nxesi briefs media on Project and Construction Management Professions Conference, 21 Oct

Built Environment hosts a Project and Construction Management Professions Conference

The second Project and Construction Management Professions Conference, a pre-eminent event in the Built Environment commences on the 20 to 22 October 2014 at Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand, Gauteng province.

This conference will be addressed by various international and local thought leaders including the Minister of Public Works, Mr Thulas Nxesi, the Premier of Gauteng, Mr David Makhura, an independent Economist, Mr Chris Hart, a consultant in Construction Project Management and Construction Health and Safety, Ms Natalie Skeepers, a scenario planner, Mr Clem Sunter, a NEPAD Infrastructure Expert, Dr John Tambi, an international expert from the UK on Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods in the Built Environment, Dr John Fletcher, among others.

“Corruption, the myths and the facts”, the challenge of perpetual Candidature period denying deserving learned graduates a professional status, the challenge of mentoring of emerging Black and female contractors to deliver world class projects on time, within budget and to an acceptable and agreed quality level and the use of registered Construction Health and Safety professionals to reduce and curb the real calamity of no less than 1.5 deaths per week on construction sites will be some of the topics that will be explored

In line with the theme “Growth, development and transformation” of the Project and Construction Management Professions, the conference will provide a platform for government and the private sector to engage on proactive and constructive ways to ensure the use of registered professionals by public and private sector clients for the delivery of world class infrastructure on time, within budget and to an acceptable and agreed quality levels while contributing the economic growth and social inclusion.
