Minister Mbalula provides update on licence renewals

The Minister of Transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula will on Wednesday, 20 April 2022 provide an update on the deadline for the extension of licence card validity. 

When launching the Easter Weekend Road Safety Campaign, Minister Mbalula urged motorist whose driving licence cards expired between 26 March 2020 and 31 August 2021 to renew their licences. Announcing a final opportunity, which extends the grace period by 30 days from the end of the state of disaster; meaning affected motorists have until 5 May 2022 to renew their expired driving licence cards. 

The Minister will give an update on developments regarding the now approaching deadline and provide a way forward.
