The Minister of Trade and Industry (the dti), Dr Rob Davies will brief the media on the outcomes and conclusion of the SADC Economic Partnership Agreement (EPAs) with European Union (EU):

The initialing of the Agreement signals that the negotiations are concluded. The timing of the conclusion agreement is significant because it pre-empts the October 2014 deadline imposed by the EU after which Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland would have lost preferential access to the EU market for their exports of beef, fish, sugar on which their economies depend heavily.
