Minister Angie Motshekga briefs media at National Education Collaboration Trust Breakfast Briefing, 5 Feb

National Education Collaboration Trust Breakfast Briefing

Please join the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT) at an informal breakfast briefing designed to bring specialist education writers up to date on progress made in the six months since our organisation’s launch.

The briefing will be addressed by:

  • The chairman of the NECT Board of Trustees, FirstRand CEO Sizwe Nxasana.
  • Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga, and Nkosana Dolopi, who are also trustees of the NECT.
  • Godwin Khosa, who was appointed CEO of the NECT in early December, and has driven the establishment of the organisation.

Some of the topics we will cover are:

  • How our comprehensive district-based approach to improving education is shaping up.
  • Who we have appointed to oversee work in the districts and ensure delivery.
  • What our Fresh Start Schools intervention entails.
  • Why we believe in building local governance structures – and how we have done this.

We appreciate that the NECT is a new organisation when it comes to developing and improving our basic education system. Some of you may have questions about us. This breakfast is a small and informal occasion that will allow time for real engagement.
