MEC Carlisle and MEC Plato to brief the media on festive season road fatality and Western Cape government interventions
Tomorrow, MEC of Transport and Public Works, Robin Carlisle and MEC of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will be briefing the media on the Festive Season’s joint enforcement and road safety efforts as well as the road death toll for that period. The festive season spanned 1st of December 2013 till 31st of January 2014.
Both MECs will be joined by Provincial Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa, at the briefing. The MECs and the Traffic Chief will be:
- releasing the road death figures for December 2013/January 2014 for the Western Cape, as well as figures relating to the past five years
- releasing Provincial Traffic enforcement statistics for the festive season, and
- speaking about some of the various Safely Home activities undertaken over this period to improve road safety in the province
