Health MEC to hold a press conference on the Brits Hospital challenges
The North West MEC for Health Madoda Sambatha will on Monday visit Brits Hospital. The purpose of the visit is to get first-hand information on the challenges at the hospital. This follows a video and pictures showing patients sleeping on the floor at the hospital. The video and pictures caused a public outcry.
The MEC will get reports from all affected stakeholders. He will thereafter make pronouncements on the findings and intervention measures to be provided.
A group called Saved Madibeng has also complained about the hospital and requested the intervention of the MEC.
MEC Sambatha will start with meeting the Management and board from 8h00-11h00 and Unions at 11h30-13h00
