MEC Bonginkosi Dhlamini briefs media on e-Government Dept Budget Vote, 16 Jul

The Gauteng MEC for e-Government, Mr. Bonginkosi Dhlamini, will host the Department’s 2025/ 26 Budget Vote media briefing tomorrow, 16 July 2025, at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.

The MEC will be unpacking more details from his 2025/26 Budget Vote that he presented to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature today, 15 July 2025, were he highlighted the department’s strategic focus on digitising government services to create easy access for citizens, connectivity expansion and the use of technology to support provincial crime-fighting initiatives. 

MEC Dhlamini also announced key interventions including the rollout of the Gauteng Provincial Network (GPN), a critical infrastructure project aimed at expanding connectivity, enhancing access to digital government services, and accelerating ICT skills development for Gauteng residents.

In addition, he also gave more details on the continued expansions of CCTV Cameras in Townships, Informal Settlements and Hostels (TISH) areas and the deployment of the Gauteng E-Panic Button across Gauteng.
