The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) hereby invites all interested parties and the media to attend a media briefing on the Authority's intention to collect a wide-ranging set of indicators on the past and future performance of the ICT sector in South Africa.
This information is a critical component in responding to Parliament’s concerns regarding the high cost of communications faced by South African citizens.
The Authority will use this information to provide up-to-date "Status of the Sector" reports as well as preparatory work for conducting market reviews into the effectiveness of competition in the ICT sector, with particular relevance to the upcoming review of the wholesale voice call termination market.
