The Economic Cluster of the Free State Provincial Government is set to outline a Programme of Action (POA) for the next five years (2014 – 2019). This was painstakingly developed and resolved by the Executive Council after laborious consultative session that started with the Provincial Lekgotla held in July 2014.
The adopted Provincial Government POA, which has already seen various projects commence since the dawn of the fifth democratic Free State Provincial Government in May 2014, has clear and precise targets and timeframes guided by the National Development Plan (NDP) – Vision 2030. This POA is premised on building the capacity of the province to be responsive to the National Growth Path and the Industrial Policy Action Plan of the country as vehicles that will enable us to move South Africa forward.
The focus of the media briefing will be on key achievements of the Economic Cluster, since the beginning of the new term of government. The briefing will also integrate issues that emanate from the deliberations of the SMME, Small Business Development and Cooperatives Summit that is currently underway at the same venue.
