Auditor-General of South Africa briefs media on new powers bestowed by Parliament, 10 Mar

Auditor-General of South Africa to brief Eastern Cape journalists on the new powers given to the AG by parliament

We would like to invite you to a media briefing session where Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) officials will be sharing results of how the Auditor-General’s (AG’s) new powers which were given by Parliament have been implemented since they came into effect in April 2019.

Among others, the new powers give the AG a mandate to compel government officials implicated in irregularities to pay back the money – out of their pockets – to the state. The aim of the session is to afford you an opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the additional powers given to the AG.

Details of the briefing are as follows:

Date: Tuesday, 10 March 2020
Time: 10h00
Place: AGSA Office 69 Free Road Vincent East London

RSVP  on or before 10:00 on 6 March 2020 to confirm attendance or book an interview at the venue.
