The Minister of Higher Education Dr Blade Nzimande will tomorrow brief the media on the report of the ministerial committee on transformation and social cohesion in higher education.

The committee has completed its work and its report has been published and provided to all institutions and the council on higher education. The committee was established by the Ministry of Education in 2008 to investigate discrimination in higher education institutions with a particular focus on racism.
The committee was also task to make recommendations on how to combat discrimination and how to promote social cohesion. This initiative was in response to growing allegations of discriminatory practices and policies within higher education institutions.
The report commends institutions for developing policies and initiatives to support transformation and eliminate discrimination.
