The Free State Department of Education will begin the delivery of Learning and Teaching Support Material (LTSM) valued at R38-million to the district warehouses and schools on Wednesday, 20 October 2010.
The material, which will be officially handed-over to the Department of Education by project managers LTSM Supply Chain Solutions (Pty) will be inspected by principals of schools before singing-off their orders, ready to be packed and loaded onto the delivery trucks for dispatch.
The Free State Premier ES Magashule will deliver a keynote statement at the media briefing which will demonstrate the unprecedented readiness of the Department to deliver these learning materials to schools.
Members of the Executive Council (MECs) of all departments, members of the Provincial Legislature Education Portfolio Committee, trade unions and representatives from School Governing Bodies representatives are expected to attend the media briefing.
The briefing will be followed by the media tour at the provincial warehouse.
