Media alert: Minister Plato to join Neighbourhood Watch/SAPS Patrol at Noordhoek Beach

Tomorrow, Thursday, 15 March 2012, Dan Plato, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, will join a beach patrol at the Noordhoek Beach.

Recent reports of muggings on the beach have prompted Minister Plato to visit the area with the local Neighbourhood Watch, Community Policing Forum (CPF) and South AFrican Police Service (SAPS), to send a strong message to criminals that crime will not be tolerated.

Minister Plato said, "This is not yet a hotspot, and is still a safe beach to walk on, I want to keep it that way, that is why I want to send a strong message to the criminals in this area and ensure that locals and tourists can carry on enjoying our beautiful beaches."

All media are invited to attend.
